Ignacio Urbina Polo
Venezuelan industrial designer, professor, researcher and curator. Specialization in Bionics by the LBDI (1998) and Master's in Product Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil (1993). Since 1995 he has been a instructor in the Design Studios and worked as a designer-researcher at the Laboratorio Brasileiro de Design Industrial - LBDI in Florianopolis, Brazil. Coordinator of the National Secretariat of Industrial Design at the National Museum of Architecture in Venezuela (2007) and director of Prodiseño - School of Visual Communication and Design, in Caracas. Founding member and director of Metaplug, an innovation and design consultancy in Caracas founded in 1999. Jury member of international competitions and speaker in more than 15 countries. Since 2011, he has been developing design projects independently and is a Tenured Professor in the Department of Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in New York.
