José Manuel Mateo

José Manuel Mateo Hernández, 1972. Sabadell (Barcelona)

He was graduated in Industrial Design at Escola A.A. i Disseny Llotja de Barcelona in 1999. 

He is the Director of the Technical and Design Department at the furniture company Alutec del Vallés, S.L. since 1998. In 1999 he founded the Catalan study of industrial and graphic design ozestudi, from where he has designed for all types of sectors and companies, such as Unilever, Lékué, Derbi, Araven, El Corte Inglés, Anota or Chupachups, among others. 

From 2001 to 2010, he was also the design director of Seliom (engineering of the Alutec holding company)and Aplisum Develop, manufacturer of products related to renewable energies and in which he had the opportunity to work together with ISOFOTÓN, UNISOLAR, WOLF, FRIGICOLL and LAPESA. 

From his work he achieves more than fifteen Awards, including a Bronze Delta, a Gold European Design Product and a Gold A-Design Award. With a critical eye, he regularly writes about industrial design in various digital publications, he has been guest jury at various design awards and has given more than thirty conferences.
