Abstract

Based on the critical edition of Magical Hymns number 9 and 11, by Preisendanz’s anthology, we aim to analyse PGM II, another papyrus book dedicated to what we are calling Photagogy Magic. Focused on the relationship between Apollo’s characters, his lore and the features of an ancient Mediterranean solar cult, for a critical comment of the archetypes and cognitive processes involved in such rituals – prophetic ones.
