Abstract

Firmicus Maternus’s astrological work, by means of a detailed statement of the astral conjunctions and its impact on the sexual life of individuals, shows that there has been a change in the sexual morality in the imperial Rome, consisting in a change of direction oriented towards heterosexuality reproduction. As far as morality is concerned, the point of view of the astrologers of the imperial era changed under the influence of Roman law.
