Abstract

This article analyzes the presence of astrological iconographic motifs in ceilings inside temples and tombs in Greek and Roman context. Through a tour of the classical sources, I will describe the common characteristics that can be located in these works. It will be from the perspective of art history from which I will discuss the origin, diffusion and scope of this decorative style that reached great fortune in Greek and Roman architecture. The Thracian Tomb of Ostrusha will be the main case study.
