Girard, Nietzsche, subjectivism, will to powerAbstract
Nietzsche is one of the most important thinkers with whom René Girard argues in his mimetic theory. Girard has his own specific interpretation of Nietzsche, which is in different aspects far away from the classical and canonical commentaries. In this article we will analyse a paradox. On the one side, there is an affinity between Girard and Nietzsche in their deconstruction of the subject. On the other side, Girard considers Nietzschean philosophy as subjectivist, in accordance with the romantic blindness that he blames in his work. In this sense, we will mainly talk about the will to power, as the key of their disagreement.
