Abstract

Traditionally, university education in the field of experimental sciences completely lacked the practice of ethical reflection, because everyone assumed that ethical behavior was implicit in scientific construction. In general, the classic view that the scientist belonged to a group of good men governed by unwritten norms was assumed by all. There was no space for ethics, because it was assumed that disinterest, objectivity, and good altruistic behavior constituted the ethos of science. Only medical students were instructed in Medical Deontology for the exercise of their profession.”
