About the Journal

The European Journal of Family Business (EJFB) is a peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal published by UMA Editorial at the University of Malaga (Spain). It publishes internationally relevant and practice-oriented research on business-owning families, family businesses, and related fields, fostering communication between academia and practice with the support of the Spanish Association of Family Enterprise Researchers (SAFER).

EJFB is published biannually (June and December) and does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs). It is indexed in Scopus and ESCI (Web of Science) and, since 2023, has been awarded the FECYT Seal of Quality by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, under the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities. Additionally, EJFB is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

FECYT | Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology 

Since 2023, the European Journal of Family Business has been awarded the FECYT Seal of Quality.

The Foundation for Science and Technology  (FECYT) is a Spanish public nonprofit organization dependent on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. This recognition certifies the journal’s compliance with high standards of editorial quality, transparency, and scientific impact in academic publishing.

DDH | Diamond Discovery Hub 

Since 2025, the European Journal of Family Business has been included in the Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH), a European initiative that recognises high-quality diamond open access journals, characterised by no publication fees for authors and free access for readers.

This recognition highlights the journal’s alignment with the principles of open science and reinforces its commitment to inclusive, community-driven and sustainable academic publishing.
