El artículo estudia la importancia del principio de mesura en la obra de Simone Weil. La mesura aparece como un valor fundamental en sus textos sociales o políticos; en ellos se muestra la importancia de coordinar los planes racionales de las diferentes personas evitando el dominio de un determinado grupo. Además, en sus textos más religiosos, la mesura aparece como un principio de la realidad defendido por diferentes tradiciones religiosas o filosóficas. Este ideal de equilibrio también se refleja en su biografía, en su capacidad para armonizar en la práctica actitudes, ideas o creencias aparentemente contradictorias.
