RESUMEN
Se analizan ciertos estudios psicológicos clásicos importantes sobre la cognición humana. En primer lugar, se considera la descripción abstracta de los seres humanos como sistemas procesadores de información (SPI). En segundo lugar, se desarrolla la descripción de la mente humana como programa de computador, tal como fue propuesta por Ulric Neisser en "Cognitive Psychology" (1967). Pero en tercer lugar se tiene en cuenta la aproximación ecológica de Gibson a la cognición humana, mostrando sus deficiencias. Para terminar, se analiza "Cognition and Reality" (1976) de Neisser, que fue influida pero no determinada por Gibson, en cuanto integra procesamiento de información y ambiente.

ABSTRACT
Certain important classical psychological studies about human cognition are anlysed. Firstly the abstract description of human beings as information processing systems (IPS) is considered. Secondly the description of human mind as computer program, such as put forward by Ulris Neisser´s "Cognitive Psychology" (1967), is developed- But thirdly Gibson´s ecological approach to human cognition is taken into account showins its shortcomings. Lastly Neisser´s "Cognition and Reality" (1976), influenced but not determined by Gibson, is analysed as integrating information processing and evironment.
