ABSTRACT
In this article, I study the influence of French novel of lates XIX th century on Nietzsche´s work. Nietzsche took from it several materials to elaborate his own philosophical approaches. Particularly, he made use of Paul Bourget´s and Goncourt brother novels to develop the criticism of European man´s decadence, along with the criticism of the concept of metaphysical subject. I prove these interpretative thesis, analysing textual parallelisms between the Nietzschean work and the above referred novels.
