ABSTRACT
At the end of 17th century, Leibniz and Johann Bernoulli held an Exchange of correspondence concerning the possibility of a reference for the infinitesimals. Both attempted to justify the calculus from opposed points of view about the reality of infinitesimals. Bernoulli insists in the existence of the actual infinite, White Leinniz dinies it. Some of Johann Bernoulli´s positions could be read today as precedents of Cantor´s ideas.
