ABSTRACT
The separation beween scientific and humanistic culture is usually located at the origins of modern science, and even before. But actually it is in the 19th century when a radical opposition between sciences and humanisties can be appreciated for the first time. This opposition eas in part caused by the fast specialisation and profesionalisation experienced by the sciences in this period. However, we can observe nowadays certains symptoms of the approximation bewetn these two cultural realms. One of these, for instance, is the proliferation of hybrid disciplines.
