Abstract

RESUMEN

La idea filosófica que subyace al planteamiento de Resnik es que el objeto primario de la matemática no lo constituyen los objetos matemáticos individuales, sino más bien las estructuras en las que se conforman. Su punto de vista estructuralista -basado en un cierto tipo de realismo- tiene algunas característicasque posibilitan una adecuada interpretación del conocimiento matemático

ABSTRACT

Resnik's underlying philosophical claim is that the primary subject matter o mathematics are not the individual mathematical objects, but rather the patterns in wich they are shaped. His strcucturalist point of view -based on a certain kind of realism- has some features that make posible an adequate interpretation of mathematicall knowledge.

Antonio Caba Sánchez es profesor asociado del Departamento de Filosofía (area de lógica y filosofía de la ciencia) de la uniersidad de Málaga. Es autor de diversos artículos sobre filosofía y metodología de las matemáticas, que constituyen la línea central de su investigación.
