On Marketing and Democracies: a Proposal by Komar and Melamid

Abstract

Taking People’s Choice, an artistic proposal by Komar and Melamid, as a departure point this article develops a parallelism between the position of people on the subject of taste in the world of art, accepting that art work is a fetish merchandise, and the position of those same people in democracies, supposedly without ideology; so much so, creating a place where deception and promise can finally come together.
