Abstract

Boletín Criminológico first appeared in 1994 to give maximum publicity to empirical research in an area of knowledge, Criminology, still incipient in Spain. As part of the research and teaching developed in the section of Málaga of Andalusian Institute of Criminology, first, and then gradually spred to the rest of the country and abroad, the journal has given voice to many studies conducted on a currently expanding academic and professional field. It‘s been twenty years and there have been many achievements. In this paper a quantitative study on the evolution of the magazine is carried out, including data on treated subjects, origin of the authors, profile of the readers and website visitors, development of the format and layout of the publication, and its impact and quality indicators.
