Abstract

In this research project we will focus on the approach of the action carried out by the Community Social Services in the matter of filioparental violence. This study presents the results of interviews with eight Social Workers working in the community. In order toanalyze these interviews, the qualitative methodology, more specifically, thematic analysis has been used. In this way, four thematic blocks, interrelated to each other, have been obtained, on which the participants base the analysis of the phenomenon: “Explanations to the phenomenon of filioparental violence”, “Intervention”, “Techniques” and “Proposals for improvement”. Following this analysis of the thematic blocks in relation to the interviews carried out, it is concluded that early intervention with cases of filioparental violence is essential since the predominant cases of violence are those perpetrated by adolescents who have not had an adequate intervention in their childhood, as well as to the importance of approaching the situation by the Social Worker of Community Social Services, intervening with the aggressor and the affected family, based on the ecological model of intervention (Bronfenbrenner, 1987). Finally, future lines of research appear to continue to delve into what should be the intervention protocol of the Community Social Services Centers in the matter of filioparental violence, with the aim of facilitating intervention to the Social Work professionals of those centers.
