Abstract

In the present study is analyzed the treatment that Ibero-American countries give to the figure of equal marriage and its relationship with social well-being of the LGBT community. A total of 1290 individuals, in person or online, belonging to this community from twenty-two countries of Iberoamerica participated in the research. Results show that there are significant differences between countries that regulate or not the figure of same-sex marriage in relation to well-being. Finally, these findings and their importance are discussed in order ot improve the situation of people belonging to the LGBT community, taking into account that currently thirteen of these countries do not regulate the union or marriage between people of same sex.
