From La Cabaña (San Juan, 1943) to La Ferme (Jura Francées, 1967-1974). Notes on the transatlantic spaces in María Zambrano

Abstract

This essay deals with two moments in the life of María Zambrano when she was benefited for the transatlantic perspective that brough exile to her works. First, I present her experiences with a group of Puertorrican intelectuals called “los cabañistas”. They are discussed here as a “discourse community” that embraced her. Later we analyze her correspondence with French-Mexican archaeologist Laurette Séjourné when Zambrano was living in La Pièce, France.
