The relations between Mexico and Spain have been maintained during the last two hundred years also in the field of philosophical reflection. This article offers an overview of the stages, the authors who have contributed the most to enriching them, as well as the topics on which they have been debating. Undoubtedly, the Spanish exile of 1939 was a strong impetus that has contributed in recent decades to an intense relationship between researchers from both countries. The creation of the Center for Mexican Studies of the UNAM in Spain (2013) has meant a qualitative leap for mutual recognition. The current challenge is to contribute to the construction of a transnational thought that bases relations between Ibero-American countries on reciprocal recognition as a project for the future, both national and cosmopolitan.
