This Other Crusade of Intelligence and Work First Meeting of Emigrated Spanish University Professors (Habana, 1943. September 22-3 October)

Abstract

Studies on Spanish exile have devoted scant attention to the First Meeting of Emigrated Spanish University Professors (Habana, 22 Sept.3 Oct., 1943). Its reference, with synthetic or only external mentions, which would end up being recurrent, was rarely well defined and methodical in relation neither to the context of causes determining its call and fulfilment nor to the specific topics developed in it, nor to its scope. This paper aims at focussing on such issues through both political reflection and, more specifically, in view of the validity of its academic and universitary significance.
