Abstract

The study highlights the poetic logos of communion and sorrow fullness that María Zambrano develops in her brief tribute and portrait of César Vallejo entitled “The mystery of the quena”. The analysis considers the main elements pointed out by Zambrano in the understanding of a metaphysics capable of seizing the image of the Peruvian poet as a unique subject. According to her, Vallejo has an unrepeatable voice to express pain and boundless human solidarity, whether of his own mestizo and indigenous people, or be it that of others, a specific case, the Spanish tragedy that Vallejo felt as his own and that he testifies in the pages of his collection of poetry España, aparta de mí este cáliz (1939).
