María Zambrano wrote an article titled “Lydia Cabrera, poet of the metamorphosis”. She highlighted the importance of the work of Lydia Cabrera with afro-cuban culture. This paper establishes the similarities between both authors, as well as the similarities between poetic knowledge and poetic reason. The different published texts, friendship relationships and different letters are taken as bibliographic sources. We will also focus on the relationship between Cabrera and García Lorca to show the links between the Generation of 27 and Lydia Cabrera.
