El TTIP: un relato político y económico

Resumen

La negociación del TTIP comenzó en el año 2013. Tres años más tarde, la resistencia de la sociedad civil, sobre todo en Europa, pone en peligro la firma de un Tratado de importantes consecuencias económicas y geoestratégicas. La opacidad en las negociaciones; la publicación de diversos estudios críticos con respecto a los efectos del Tratado en el empleo, los flujos comerciales y los ingresos fiscales; y la movilización de ONGs y activistas en defensa de asuntos como los servicios públicos o el respeto al medio ambiente siembran dudas sobre la firma definitiva del Tratado en el año 2017. El final del segundo mandato del presidente Obama y los problemas internos de la Unión Europea (con el Brexit o los problemas migratorios ocupando la agenda política de los dirigentes) alimentan la hipótesis del fracaso.

Biografía del autor/a

Enrique Benítez Palma, Universidad de Málaga

Economista. Estudió en la Universidad de Málaga y se especializó en Metodología Estadística por el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). Ha cursado también el Programa Ejecutivo en Gobernanza del Sector Público que imparte ESADE. En la actualidad ejerce de consejero en la Cámara de Cuentas de Andalucía. Adscrito como investigador colaborador en el Grupo de Estudios Historiográficos de la Universidad de Málaga (HUM 394), es también colaborador habitual de Quimera, revista de literatura, y de las páginas de cultura del grupo Prensa Ibérica. Asimismo, es autor de distintas publicaciones académicas.
