Efectos del COVID-19 en las emociones positivas y la actividad física en estudiantes universitarios

Resumen

La declaración del estado de alarma para la gestión del COVID-19 supuso un importante punto de inflexión para muchos sectores, entre ellos el educativo, e impactando en los niveles de actividad física con el consecuente perjuicio tanto en la salud física como mental. En este estudio se analizaron los niveles de actividad física (alto, medio y bajo) y la percepción de emociones positivas en dos momentos diferentes (pre-COVID y COVID) en estudiantes universitarios. Para la variable emociones positivas se analizó la existencia de diferencias significativas en los dos momentos y en función del género, comprobándose también las diferencias según los niveles de actividad física. Las emociones positivas fueron mayores en la muestra de hombres y significativamente mayores en el momento pre-COVID, obteniéndose diferentes significativas por género en el momento COVID. Los niveles de actividad física se mostraron superiores, en todos los casos, en el momento pre-COVID. Estos resultados muestran la importancia de la actividad física en el estado emocional de los estudiantes universitarios. Por ello, las universidades deben diseñar e implantar programas que fomenten la participación regular de práctica de actividad física en los estudiantes, redundando así en una mejora del bienestar y de experiencias de aprendizaje.
