Las teorías científicas son explicativas, es decir adoptan una perspectiva nomológica-deductiva, intentando generalizar rigurosamente desde datos empíricos, que por exteriores son intersubjetivamente contrastables. Esta perspectiva es común tanto a los enfoques externalistas como a los internalistas en biología. Recientemente, la biosemiótica ha introducido la idea de agente biológico que actúa como sí fuese consciente. Y esto implica una naturalización de la conciencia. Sostengo que en las filosofías de Whitehead y Leonardo Polo cabe encontrar fundamentos no naturalizables de la actividad «semiótica» de los organismos vivos.Downloads
