Abstract

Mathematical Making is, in general, unknown. When one speaks about mathematics isusually in order to show some rejection: people blame mathematical making for the so-called academic failure and many of those who study humanities try to avoid mathematics. However, we live in a mathematized world of artifacts. A world originated in the Agricultural Revolution when groups of hominids adopted technique, mathematics and the symbolic space to transform themselves. These elements bécame constituent parts of the human species. As one of those elements, mathematics has an essential role to achieve knowledge and, so, to build the artifacts that have made possible the Western society to which we belong.
