Complaints and Claims Policy
Authors may exercise the right to file complaints and/or appeals if they believe: that an error has been made regarding the transparency of the process; that they have received discriminatory or unfair treatment; or that they disagree with the editorial decisions. This right may be exercised within 30 calendar days of the original editorial decision.
Regarding the procedure itself, the interested author must send the complaint and/or appeal in writing to the following email address: livia.bastos@upaep.mx. This document must include specific details about the nature of the complaint/appeal, as well as any evidence deemed relevant to the claim.
The Editorial Team will review each and every complaint and/or appeal received. If the Editorial Team was directly involved in the challenged decision, it will not participate in the review, and the Board of Directors will appoint a member of the Editorial Board to carry out this task. The response time should not exceed 30 calendar days from the date the claim/appeal is received. In exceptional cases, the author must be notified within this timeframe if more time is needed to fully address the issue.
The final decision will clearly and transparently determine whether the claim/appeal is valid. If so, it will be corrected and adjusted as necessary. If not, the original editorial decision must stand, with a clear, objective, and reasoned justification. The final decision, whether positive or negative, will be communicated to the author in writing, explaining in detail the reasons behind it and the subsequent actions.
