The theme of the present essay is the analysis of the epistemological vagueness of the concept of the “self” due to the metamorphosis this notion has suffered throughout history. It analyzes the dangerous change of self-consciousness that has had our species, in what way human ego works silently, and how our conception of “us” is under threat, far from all individualism and speciesism. It underlines the human need and importance of rebuilding the notion of “us”, in order to see ourselves as a harmonious whole.
