Textual Practices and Traces of ‘Magical Research’ in Greek Handbooks

The article investigates how magical recipes were preserved, enriched and modified by the compilers of the magical handbooks: starting from the references in the texts that have come down to us, we will discuss in particular how ancient magicians made a comparison between different versions of the same recipe or between different recipes aimed at obtaining the same result.
