Abstract

Much of the scientific advances are always linked to the development of a new technique or methodology. Thus, the technique of premature termination of enzymatic DNA synthesis through the use of nucleotide analogs - Sanger method - made possible the sequencing of DNA and, consequently, the reading of the genetic message. The purification of DNA polymerases from thermophilic organisms and their use in the amplification of nucleic acids (PCR) has meant, in addition to one of the most lucrative patents in the history of Biotechnology, an essential technique in all biomedical research
