Psicología y materialismo

Resumen

RESUMEN

Inicialmente se distingue entre materialismo ontológico y materialismo mental. Se analizan las principales tesis de los tres tipos de materialismo mental (clásico o teoría de la identidad, eliminativo y de sobreveniencia), presentando objeciones a todos ellos. Se concluye defendiendo y funcionalemergentismo, que combina la tesis funcionalistas en ciencias cognitivas y la tesis emergentista en psicología e informática.

ABSTRACT

Firstly a distinction is made between ontological materialism and mental materialism. Then the main theses concerning the three knds of mental materialism (classic or identity-theory, eliminative and supervenience materialism) are analyzed, raising objections to them. The concluding claim is funtionalemergentism, combining the functionalist thesis in cognitive science and the emergentist thesis in psychology and computer science.
