La relevancia del debate presentismo/eternismo en ética

De acuerdo con el presentismo metafísico, solo existe el presente. Contrariamente a esto, el eternismo sostiene que el pasado y el futuro son igualmente reales, y que el universo tiene una naturaleza atemporal. No obstante, en ocasiones se ha sostenido que este debate es en realidad un pseudo-debate, y que no se deriva de él ninguna diferencia práctica en nuestra forma de entender el mundo o en nuestras actitudes hacia la vida. Sin embargo, existen toda una serie de cuestiones en teoría moral para las cuales la adopción de uno u otro enfoque sí puede suponer diferencias relevantes.
