ABSTRACT
Soma specialist in Buddhist philosophy state that the buddhist philosopher Nâgârjuna revolutionized and undermined the foundations both of early and of scholastic buddhism.by defending that whatever is interdependentl originated is empty of inherent existence, that is to say, it is emptiness. However, the text of the historical buddha and, for instance, the scholastic texts of the theravada tradition, prove that Nâgârjuna opposes neither the philosophy of the buddha nor the schools of scholastic buddhism, but only the substantialist deviations of buddhist scholasticism. Nâgârjuna reestablishes and continues buddha's philosophy from a different philosophical context.
