In 2010, Law 8/2010, of July 27, on Measures for the Comprehensive Revaluation of Playa de Palma was approved in the Balearic Islands. This law was born with the aim of declaring the revaluation of Playa de Palma as a priority objective and of public interest, once the tourist, urban and commercial decline of the area and its negative repercussions in a strategic enclave for the first industry of the Balearic Islands. This Law establishes the instrument called the Playa de Palma Reconversion Plan, on which the revaluation and rehabilitation operations provided for in the Law pivot.
