Abstract

The Anthropocene can be considered a new stage in the Earth's geological history. It started with the great acceleration in human activity in the mid-twentieth century and it is characterized “by global and synchronous modification of natural systems by human action”.

This global change of the planet has its best-known component in climate change, Its impacts are especially worrying on the Mediterranean coast, where it is possible to register its effects earlier.

Searching for strategies to prevent and face the effects of these changes of which the human being is the main causal agent, In this research, system thinking is used, the socioecosystem is adopted as a new model to interpret this coastal area, in our proposal it is embodied in the Western Costa del Sol (hereinafter CSO).
