Resumen

The aim of this work is a history of the development of the American Labor Movement. The book is one of the first attempts to analyze the relationship between business, employees and the government during such a long period of time (more than 250 years). Apart from political considerations the authors draw attention to the causal factors of the evolution of American Labor Law and Policy. The book also examines the evolution of American working class and its creative role in society. The book seems to be particularly valuable especially in the light of the current renaissance of the debate on the future of U.S. economy and the currently observed global unemployment crisis.
