ARTxt. Journal of Artistic Experimentation is committed to protecting the personal data of its users, authors, reviewers, and readers, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and applicable Spanish legislation (LOPDGDD).

2. Data we collect and purposes
We collect different data depending on the user’s role in the OJS system:

Authors: Name, affiliation, email address, ORCID, and a brief biography.
Purpose: To manage the submission, peer review, and publication of the article. -
Reviewers: Name, email, and areas of expertise.
Purpose: To manage invitations and the manuscript review process. -
Readers (registered): Name and email.
Purpose: To send alerts about new issues (subscription) and manage user profiles in the system.
3. Legal basis for processing
Processing of your data is necessary for the execution of the editorial contract (scientific publication) and for the legitimate interest of the University of Málaga in disseminating academic research.
4. Data retention periods

Publication data: Retained permanently due to its scientific and historical value.

User account data: Retained as long as the account is active. Accounts can be deleted upon request.

Review process data: Retained for 5 years.
5. Data sharing
Author data (name, affiliation, and ORCID) are published together with the article. In addition, journal metadata are transferred to international indexers such as DOAJ, Latindex, Scopus, or Dialnet, as required by standard editorial practice to ensure the visibility of the research.
6. Users’ rights
Any user may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, and portability by sending an email to artxt@uma.es with the subject “Data Protection”, attaching a copy of their identification document.
7. Cookies
This platform uses technical cookies (essential for the functioning of the OJS system, such as user session and language). We do not use marketing or third-party cookies without explicit consent.
